I inadvertently just participated in a christmas art trade with a friend webcomic artist comic dude twitter guy friend, Brett Muller. I’d learned that he wasn’t going to be having that great of a christmas. So I whipped up some fanart as a christmas card for him. Also, I kind of wanted an excuse to draw his character, Eye ball (LOOK AT HIM HE IS SO ADORABLE JEEZ).

He liked it so much, he decided to draw me something too.

Dude basically kicked my ass for christmas.

Really though it is wonderful I love it =)

Holiday work

Ever since I started winter holidays, I’ve been hard at work . Commissions, stuff for my good friend and her project. I designed a few characters for her- but I also managed to sneak in some time for my own stuff too.

So hey school! How about that. I’ve actually almost finished up my first semester. It’s just these next three weeks or so, christmas break, second semester and then I graduate! Real world! A career for the rest of my life I’m going to throw up now brb.

That’s not the only thing that’s been kicking around. Me and a group of friends put together our very first zine! And wow I am so glad it is over with. Everything that could have gone wrong pretty much did. Now that it’s done, I guess I’m… glad we made all those mistakes? To sort of get them out of the way and learn what’s what? Sort of?

I got to pick this up monday night

75 copies in a nice ol’ box. We’re having a launch part at the end of the month at the gallery that sponsored us. I really am so happy this is over.

hey there hi there

sorry for the radio silence. August has been a busy month and-well- I’ll be honest. I made a livejournal for the more personal thoughts. I’m still keeping this though! This will still be my art blog and I like it too much to just drop it. I’ve also been pushing myself to get my pages finished for the zine project with the guys. That- and a portfolio for the fan expo. That also means I’ve been severly lax on journal comics. I am STILL trying to finish the 50 panel journal comic for my toronto trip with a friend.

I am not without product though. I’ve been on a super kick with shoes actually! Painting them specifically. So far I’ve done a Hellboy pair, a Conan pair for my dad, and I’m working on a legion of super heroes pair right now.

 

Abusing the laptop webcam

I’ve always been a big fan of watching people draw on camera. Ustream or desktop recordings. I finally found a good angle for my laptop, and I’m having way too much fun fastforwarding myself and adding in ‘I need a hero’ to the background.

other side of the city

Took a trip to Toronto with a friend for three days. We were visiting for the Just for Laughs festival, and a little shopping in the Pacific mall. I didn’t get any drawing done, but I have started the journal comic for that trip. I plan it to be about 50 panels in length. I really wanted to make it big.

I did, however, take some pictures! With my dad’s old canon too.
